We have worked tirelessly to provide options from US companies and US manufacturers. We also offer generic options that typically come from Eastern Asia at a reduced cost.
All Laser Aiming Modules have common parts between each model. Those parts are an aiming laser (typically a side emitting type diode) and an illuminator diode (in our case two VCSEL array diodes). While we do have multiple aiming laser options, all LAMs use the same VCSEL Diode. Our VCSEL diodes are manufactured by Inolux Corp in Silicon Valley, California. These diodes are primarily used for infrared illumination in machine sensing, bio sensing, or night-vision modes in security cameras. These diodes operate at 850nm (+/- 10nm) and capable of illumination power of 1.1 Watts. Illumination levels are regulated by the FDA and we will not be offering power levels beyond legal limits set out by the FDA. Illumination power this high would most likely damage image intensifier tubes anyways. Included in each unit will be a test sheet with its corresponding power per diode.
Aiming Laser
- Our US laser option uses a single side emitting diode manufactured in New Jersey. This diode operates at 850nm +/-10nm with increased reliability.
- The generic option is manufactured in Eastern Asia. This is a typical side emitting diode that operates at 780nm (with an unknown tolerance) and is a cost effective option that will operate as intended. Our testing has shown that the diode/lens combination will occasionally exhibit artifacts in the vicinity of the focused beam. These artifacts are typically unnoticeable when used in conjunction with the illuminator.
Cover Glass
- Our most cost effective cover glass is an uncoated BOROFLOAT® substrate glass. This provides ample protection from debris, scratches, and impact damage.
- Our sapphire substrate cover glass comes in a coated and uncoated version. This sapphire glass has a Knoop hardness of 1900. Due to the hardness levels of sapphire (second to diamond), these fixed covers offer the best protection from debris, scratches, and impact damage. If you manage to crack your sapphire cover glass we would be more than willing to cover a replacement, following an email with the story!
- The NIR coated sapphire glass is included on all "Plus" models. This coating typically is visible as a blue hue on the surface of the glass. This coating also keeps the VCSEL diode efficiency as high as possible.
Illuminator Lenses
SPOT ILLUMINATOR
- Our generic spot illuminator uses a 10mm aspheric lens manufactured in eastern Asia. This lens is an uncoated lens and is a cost effective alternative, when narrow beam divergence is not required.
- Our coated spot illuminator uses a 9mm NIR coated plano-convex lens. Due to a longer focal length, this lens exhibits a narrow beam pattern suitable for 300+ yards in most conditions. This narrow beam pattern has been proven to illuminate past photonic barriers such as street lights and vehicle head lights. This lens is included on all "Plus" models.

FLOOD ILLUMINATOR
Our flood illuminator is a 5mm uncoated aspheric lens, manufactured in eastern Asia. As of 2023, our flood illuminator has multiple pattern options. The Inolux VCSEL diode has a natural flood of 30 degrees, however this projects a grid-like pattern in a rectangular shape.
